Rugby fans, stock up your fridges and coolers. The MLR Championship Series Finals are here, and we know there’s nothing that goes better together than a fierce game of rugby and beer. Whether you’ll be watching the lads from the stadium grandstands or the comfort of your sofa, we’ve got just the thing to turn your rugby viewing experience up a notch: a drinking game.

All you need is an ice cold Gilly’s Lager in hand, your full and undivided attention on the field or TV screen, and some cognitive engagement (don’t worry, the rules are simple). So, as the teams battle it out for MLR glory, you can claim bragging rights during your own drinking-game showdown.

Before you start

You’ll need an adult rugby-loving crowd. Rally up your pals from college, your colleagues, or your next door neighbors. Then you’ll need plenty of beer. This should be priority No. 1. We don’t want you to run out of booze halfway through the game. 

It’s best to go with a good lager beer. Something easygoing and super-drinkable. If you’re going to be couchtailing, we recommend that you grab a Gilly’s from Pinkdot, stock up at your nearest store. or look out for the Gilly’s vendor at the next match.        

• Fill up on carbs. Order some takeout or hit the food trucks at the stadium. Just don’t stuff yourself too much.
• Split everyone into two groups, each representing one of the teams in the game. Players will then drink according to how the game unfolds.
